Welcome to Art of the Chase Gallery,
The Art of the Chase brings together two of my passions… the love of English Foxhunting and the art of bronze sculpting.
As a second-generation fox hunter with over 40 years experience riding to hounds, and serving as Master of Hounds and Huntsman of Shamrock Hounds for 27 of those years, my knowledge and love of the sport run deep. Art and literature of ‘the hunt’ play an important part in continuing the tradition, beauty and thrill of The Chase.
It has always been important to me that the viewer become part of the creative process. Therefore I hope my sculptures will remind you of the many wonderful memories you’ve experienced with horse and hound.
Happy Hunting,
Barry Henderson, MFH, Retired

Let’s Go
The Huntsman’s Horse has a very special relationship with the Hounds as they work together to provide the thrills of the chase. “Lets Go” is in honor of the horses and hounds who gave me the greatest days of my life. Here’s to “Rusty” and “Homer”, two of my last hunting companions when I retired from the sport.

Cave Horse
The Chauvet-Pont-d’Anc Cave in Southern France contains some of the earliest cave paintings. Most of the artwork dates to 30,000-32,000 years ago. The horse was included among hundreds of animal paintings depicting at least 13 different species. “Cave Horse” leaves much to the imagination regarding the history of the horse between the date of the Chauvet drawings and the horse of today. How could man have achieved all he has without the work and devotion of this marvelous animal?
